I know a used car dealer that had a 2007 duramax that would use 25 gallons of fuel on a 120 mile trip hauling 3 cars,thats just short of 5 m.p.g.He now has an 08 duramax,I haven`t asked him about the milage yet.GM had to buy the 07 back it had a power loss problem that they couldn`t fix.

 

Ive read a lot of posts on a lot of fourms about the 6.4L getting terrible mileage. Unfortunately, the 6.4 is a direct result of the new emissions laws. Seems to me the newer the truck, the worse the mileage. My 97 reg cab F350 7.3 5spd with 4.10s got 22-23 mpg hwy and 16-17 mpg pulling 14,000 lbs. My current 2000 F350 crew cab auto with 3.73s gets about 16 mpg hwy empty and 11-12 mpg pulling 8,000 lbs.

 

i get 14-18 out of my 5.4l f250. but i added cai with k&n filter and superchips programmer for almost 400 beans. so for an extra grand is it worth it???

 

I bought a 2008 F350 DRW, and wrote ford about the MPG of mine, from 10 to 13 not pulling anything! Here is what they wrote Back! LOL

You mentioned the regeneration cycle. Is that when the engine starts to scream with loss of power and typically after the truck has been running a while? Ive taken my F250 in for what I thought may be a fan clutch problem or even a cylinoid sticking issue. Im no expert, but could I possibly be describing the regeneration reference you made? Thanks

 

Well, if you buy a Chevy, like Toyota says, you're buying less of an american vehicle than the Toyota's percentage is. Besides that. I have a 2005 f350 5.4 that is just stellar. I'm having my first problem, (have a bad coil somewhere). I get around 16 mpg in the hills of Vermont and even better on the flats of NYS (unloaded) The only problem I have ever had with a Ford that actually alarmed me was a spark plug left the head and wasted my coil. Now I'm thinking of having a garage do my plugs in case this problem wasn't fixed with the 3 valve version.

 

a chip will void the warranty. once the warranty is up, it is a good idea to do dpf delete, air intake, and egr delete. my dad's friend did that after his was up and is now seeing 19 mpg city

 

This truck looks good . Pulls ok , runs like a trk should . Holds together like a exploder !!!! Radiator 4 times , alignment 6 times , fuel every time it smells a pump . F i x. Or. Repair. Daily FORD remember the saying , they made it true for 2008 F250
