Exclamation 2014 F250 hitch mounted ATV platform

I've looked and couldn't find a good thread on this so figured I'd start my own. I have a 2014 F250 Plat. FX4. I do a lot of camping and overlanding with the truck, was out in Colorado recently and really wished I had my ATV with me so this year I want to bring it on my trips. the problem is I have a hard shell on the truck that's decked out for camping. 60 gallon water, all the kitchen stuff and the bed so although the ATV technically fits in the bed with the hard shell on, nothing else would. I've seen these atv racks that fit in a trailer hitch and thought they looked pretty cheap( not very heavy duty) I have a can am outlander 1000 that is right at 700 lbs. I plan on building my own rack for it out of some thicker metal than those racks they sell. my only concern is the truck hitch... although the sticker says 850lb hitch weight for the 2.5" hitch, this rack will extend about 50" from the face of the hitch. if I keep the total weight under 850 is this a SAFEish idea? not a fan of killing the person driving behind me and I take the truck way on back road trails so a trailer isn't really a good option for me. any advice or opinion is welcome. ( I've looked into renting while im out there but with how many places we want to ride and the cost of renting a quad its just insane)
