Hello all,
I just purchased the truck from another dealer and it did not have the remote start feature.
I had the Remote Start feature installed and enabled at a Ford Dealer. They mentioned some problems programming keys? I have experienced odd things.
1. When starting, i press the lock button then the start button. when I press the start button, the first time the vehicle honks, the second time it starts as normal. My 2015 did not Honk on the first press.
2. When the vehicle is running, pressing the start button on the key will NOT stop the engine. My 2015 did this. Also any videos i watch that do this same install, theirs will stop the engine.
ANY IDEAS as to why it will not stop the engine when start button is pressed when running? Could the BCM Body Control Module be acting up?

UPDATE: I discovered that i simply need to press the start button twice for it to start. No other button (such as the lock button) are required to start the vehicle.
Can anyone tell me if the button sequence is stored on the KEY of in the vehicle? (wondering if a new/different key would act the same?)

 

NEW UPDATE... A little late. Turns out that the KEYs were the issue all along. I finally discovered that all I had to do was press the start button on the key once! AND the truck would start.
I spent the Money to get an OEM key from my local locksmith and after it was programmed to the truck. The new key performed as it is supposed to.... Press Lock, then Press Start button Twice. Viola it starts. Press Start again while running and Poof it shuts off. (WHAT a pain this was to figure out)... Moral of the story. Do not by the Remote Start Kit from Amazon. In particular..
