Default 2017 Ford Hitch

Does anyone seem to know why Ford put a 3” receiver hitch on the new F-250. Recquiring 2 reducer sleeves to bring you to the standard 2”. I asked the ford sales manager and he said “All ford trucks since 2006 have had a Class III hitch on them, which means they have a 3” distance measured corner to corner”. I decided to walk out before I snapped on him.

Don't know why they did it but Ford isn't the only one. Dodge and Chevy have them too. You can get the draw bars anywhere.

Welcome to the site..

They increased the hitch frame from 2" to 3" to increase the carry capacity.
