Default 4WD Shift Linkage Problem- 97 F250

Hi.

On my 97 F250 Diesel, the housing that holds the 4WD shift linkage to the transmission broke. Apparently, this is a common problem and Ford redesigned the parts? Anyway, that's the story I got and was told the housing comes in two pieces and was over $560 for them.

The shop I went to couldn't find any replacements or used ones.

First of all, what is the actual name of these "housing parts?". Second, is there anywhere I can get them cheaper?

Thank you.
