Your suspicions are correct, dry , no sealer of any kind.

Thanks hanky....this nightmare of mine is finally in the home stretch......had four of the exhaust manifold studs bust in the block. Luckily I was able to weld a nut on all four and remove them safely. Then helicoil one, cause someone previously timeserted the hole incorrectly. intake manifold was cracked in three spots...bad....someone previously tried to melt the crack tight! FAIL! then placed duct tape over the melt?!? All plugs came out fine, actually 5 of the 8 were less than finger tight, I was worried about busted threads, but all new plugs made it home, safe and sound! Three of the coil packs were cracked from overtightening, and one, the boot was duct taped to the coil, because they had ripped from eachother. Someone with zero business under ANY hood was into this truck! Got her squared away now, will have it fired up today, or atleast I'd better, because wisconsin rifle deer opener is tom. morning!!Thanks to all who administer, and up-keep this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!
