I've already seen flames out a tailpipe of a motor running at high speed with the timing too retarded.

yea but this isn't from timing being retarded. It's from the injectors leaking and letting raw diesel into the exhuast. From what i understand after sometime the injector goes completely and lets enought diesel in to hydraulic the cylinder thus destroying the motor. I like the way fords look but I read about the issues with the 6.0 and there was just no way i would buy that or a 6.4 now.
