94 f250 10.25 rear
Im needing to replace the axel bearings my f250. Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions as far as brands go. Im doing the inner and outer and the seal, id like to buy a kit for each side if i can. Thanks
I just did my axle bearings and seals and got them from bronco graveyard. You get timkin bearings, races and the seal for $75 a side. Its a super easy job. The gear oil in the bags is the way to go, so much easier to fill the differential. I used about 3 1/2 bags to fill it. I had to buy a new plug for the differential since the square in mine was not deep at all so I had to take a pencile grinder to it to fit my ratchet in it. You will need a special socket too for the retaining nut. The driver side is reverse thread. For new bearings its 65 ft/lbs then back off 5 clicks.
Supposed to put the tire on before tightening the axle bolts too for some reason. I also had to replace my break shoes and drums since the shoes were covered in gear oil. When putting the shoes on if you connect the long spring at the top which connects both shoes together it makes doing the rest easier. Its also a lot easier with the hub off since it gives you all the room in the world.
