94 F250 vibration problem
I just got a nice 1994 F250 XL with 4x4 and it has a strong vibration when in low rpms and im givin it gas. It starts about 35 to 45 mph and it shakes my entire truck when its a low rpm. The vibration does not translate into my steering wheel so i know it aint the tires. Im thinkin its my torque converter. But im not 100% sure. Anybodt have any insight on this? I would really appreciate it.
Vibs gone if the OD canceled?
Torque converter 'shudder' is pretty common during lockup on a higher mileage or poor/extended service intervals on E4OD's.. 'Sometimes' just servicing the unit and/or additives like Shudder Guard ect may help, or if your lucky, elliminate the condition.. If the shudder is severe, sometime the best you can do is lessen the condition..If you only get the vibration as the trans locks the converter and you may even detect a slip, has smooth power when forced to kick down (?) then the converter is probably the cause..
