97 f350 5.8 electrical issue

Default 97 f350 5.8 electrical issue

Was washing my 97 F350 5.8 l all the sudden the RPMs went up around to about 1500 ran for 10 15 seconds and died .would not crank found four of the cylinders full of fuel took out plugs cranked put back in would not start pulled fuse pump maxi fuse truck starts and runs but misses anything over a third of a pedal it stops running I put the maxi fuse back in and it kills the engine instantly put a fuel pressure gauge on it 0 psi but runs put the fuse in it builds pressure to 10 12 PSI but kills the motor I have no idea what's going on

What were you washing, outside only, engine too?

outside only the water ran down under the hood I don't know if it was a fwake or had anything to do with it

Quick suggestion, check the fuel pressure regulator for gasoline in the vacuum hose from intake to fuel press regulator.

If gas is in there , regulator is defective.

Fuel pressure o but runs rough.put maxi fuse in engine dies pressure goes to 10-12 pounds

First ,,,,which 4 cyls?

Sounds like a poor connection someplace , could also be ground connection.

I would suspect when you install the maxi fuse it loads the circuit which was not getting full power down to most likely no power and the engine just cuts off.

Suggest you check all the connections from the battery to where they connect to engine and sheet metal. Remember looking at them does nothing, they need to be removed , cleaned and reinstalled.
