99 f250 wont start
#2
A quickie to try. When one person is holding the key in the start position tap the starter assy with a small hammer or block of wood to dislodge a stuck brush . If the starter works then you know what has to be done. Replace it.
If that doesn't work , Check the connections to the starter and confirm that voltage is getting to the starter solenoid on the starter when the key is turned to start. Don't forget to check the ground connections also. If all check out good then it's a good possibility the starter needs to be replaced.
