Default ABS light on after changing batteries

I have an 03 Ford F-350 6.0 that I was having trouble starting and I pulled out the batteries had them checked and put in 2 new ones after a week of sitting up. Now when I start it the yellow ABS light comes on. I tried getting the code on my Actron CP9175 scanner but no codes show up. Will ABS codes be picked up by a scanner such as this or are ABS codes stored differently? I tried disconnecting the negative cable on both batteries for several hours to see if this would clear the alarm but it has not. The ABS light was not on before I pulled out the batteries and no other work was done other than changing a couple of fuses for a brake controller I had installed. Any ideas how to clear this?

Today I pulled the 2 fuses I changed but ABS light still on.
I removed the sensor on top of the rear axle checked ohms 1875 put it back - light still on
I started to bring it into town as a local parts store had an ABS scanner that would get me in the right direction and less than a mile down the road the light cleared. I don't have any idea why but I'm just glad it did.
