Default Bad engine?

Made a huge mistake of take my 91' F250 5.0 EFI up a sand hill because on the way back I couldn't make it so I really had to force it in 2nd gear in 4 low. When I was driving home there was barely any power in the gears and shifting into a new gear the truck started to wobble (probably from lack or power?) after 3rd gear there is very very little power and I couldn't use 5th because of how much the truck wobbled. The engine sounded weak and didn't have the sound headers are supposed to make, sounded like air was running my engine. When I popped the hood I didn't seen any oil leaking anywhere.
Am I looking at having to buy a new engine?..

1. On a level surface check your engine oil.
2. Remove the air filter and service it.
3. Ensure you have clean fuel (no water or other contamination)
Please let us know what you find.
Regards,
Eric
