Good Afternoon,

I have a new 2017 F-250 and need to reinstall my dashcam. On my old f150, I was able to find a fuse that was keyed so that when the truck turned on, the camera did too.

I cant seem to find one on the new F250. Is there a suggestion out there as to where to get/connect a dashcam on-off with the ignition switch?

Do the plug in power points operate with the key?

 

Hi Hanky, Thanks for the response. Yes, the 12v power point and the 112 v outlet are both on an on/off with the key. I cant find those listed on the passenger compartment fuse layout. Of the 38 possible points in the fuse panel by the passengers feet. 15 of them are the dual micro fuse that have three connection tabs. The remaining 15 of them are micro fuses and those are what I am trying to hook up a "Add a Circut" fuse connector to. The problem that I have is they don't label them appropriately. What am I missing?

The new fuse composition was intended to save $ and space. Jamming something into a fuse slot is asking for trouble. You might need to get behind the power point and tap into the feed with an addl fuse to make a permanent connection if just using the power point does not meet your needs.
