my truck started idling very eractly and blowing black smoke out of the tail pipe. does anyone know why?[][:@]

 

I just returned from a trip and noticed an oil leak coming from the top of the bell housing took truck toshop and the ICP sensor blew its top causing the oil leak, shop informed me that this would fix my idling problem and it did. It also had a Y pipe crackedtotal repair coast was $871 hope this helps someone

 

i think i might know your problem, my 05 6.0 had the same problem check your egr valve it might be clogged it cost 5.00 to go buy a can of brake cleaner and clean the gunk off of it. simple it worked for me.
