Default blend door

New to forum--did not have much luck under search thread---had no hot air on my 2005 F250--replaced the blend dpor actuator--now lots of heat but only heat--no vent or A/C--heat only--do you have to "calibrate" the blend door or is something else going on--thanks

Check if the function selector is sending signal to the vent /Def door. (second door) actuator.

1) Check my signature below
2) You have manual or auto hvac control?
3) Who or you replaced the actuator?

Blend door actuator doesn't break that easily, if it breaks (broken teeth or motor stops working) the root cause is almost always the blend door itself that needs lubrication using silicone spray. When you have a sticky blend door inside the heater box, a new actuator can't help.
You don't really need to calibrate it but you must install the new actuator or reinstall your old one in absolute correct orientation for the blend door (female) to engage with the blend door actuator (male) correctly.
Additionally installation is tricky and it's not as easy as you think. Have a look at my other post in this thread on the procedure and how to bench test the actuator itself.
Not sure the exact mechanism of your heater box (until you answer my question # 1 and # 2 above so I can look up the diagram), the blend door inside the heater box can move vertically or horizontally. If it moves vertically then your door is currently stuck in all-the-way up position. The actuator itself is inexpensive, if you have to replace the damaged blend door you have to buy the entire heater box, keep that in mind.
And of course, you can have electrical issue instead, that's why first thing you need to bench test your old actuator.

I initially had no heat---very low airflow even when motor on high and again no heat--I replaced the blend door actuator and right away had heat in all positions with good air flow---but then I had only heat even when turning temp control down to 60 and even when I turned A/C on i have nothing but heat--Does that give you more info--I guess my temp hvac control is manual--you press a button until you get to desired temp (not a ****) and I have no "auto" function--

One door ,blend, controls, how much cold air is allowed to mix with heated air. The second door directs the air to defrost , vent or floor.

So my replacing the blend door actuator gave me good airflow to vent/defrost/panel vents (I had poor airflow before replacing actuator and no heat as well--I could always switch from vent/defrost/panel-just not warm and very poor flow)--so now my problem must be the door that directs amount of hot air vs cold air?--where is this door located??

Question # 1 I asked previously remains unanswered. Check above the "OK" button is not clickable, can't continue.
The blend door should be integrated into the heater box as one whole unit, not 100% sure until I can't click the "ok" button to pull diagrams.
My signature is right below all my posts.

I am sorry but you have me completely confused--I do not see any "signature" or anything below each of your posts so not sure what you mean there--My truck is 2005/F250 4WD auto with 6.0 powerstroke--I see some other posts about having to make sure the actuator goes in correct way--my new on just slipped right in very easily right out of the box--so if it is keyed I would think the blend door was in the correct spot. The truck is in shop with a water leak-hose I hope -so I dont have access to 8th VIN digit right now-sorry

IF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you have any paperwork,,,,auto insurance papers, title, expired registration, etc., your VIN should be on them. Might save you some time.
