what should a brake replacement cost f250 tremor, my dealer is saying 2 grand

 

Brake replacement can mean a lot of different things.

Need to know: front or rear or both ?
JUST WHAT IS GETTING REPLACED
Depending on the answer to that question ,
Some parts can be machined and reused, or may require replacement
Parts and labor can vary depending on just what is required, and some places replace everything to avoid comebacks.
Different parts of the country have different labor rates. So as you can see, until we know just what needs to be replaced, it is impossible to offer a confirmation of any figure . The figure offered MIGHT be assuming all new parts, , needed or not !

What happened to the rotors that would warrant replacements?

 

Something we don't know also,,,,, present mileage , what if any brake work was done in past AND if necessary, could require caliper replacement.

There are a lot of unknowns and to say whether offered estimate is excessive would not be wise until results of checks are completed.
