Bulletproof 6.0
#2
Terrance Crowe,
A bullet proofed and tuned 6.0 could last quite a while if driven responsibly. Many people with this setup don't because they believe it is in fact "bulletproof". I don't think there is a specific amount of miles that the truck will last. It depends on how well you take care of the truck. I will say that a bulletproof 6.0 is better than not having it bulletproofed at all. It is still possible to blow a head gasket and ruin a trans with tuning.
Another thing to consider is, who did the work? Was it done by a reputable shop? Does the seller have all the receipts for the work? I highly suggest taking the truck to a diesel shop and having them look it over.
When I bought my 6.0 it already had the EGR delete done but I had no idea who did the work. A couple months later, it's in the shop getting bulletproofed. I wish I had used my own advice back then. You live and you learn I guess. Good luck.
