Buying a new to me F250 6.7L
So to start things off I have a friend that owns a few dealerships and I have the opportunity to buy a vehicle at his auction price. (So no dealership Mark up) I've never owned a diesel pick up so this will be new for me. I've decided on a 2015-2018 F250 6.7L in either lariat, platinum or king Ranch trim. With under 100k miles I can get one of these trucks for around $30k. Now that all of that is out of the way here are some of my concerns/ questions.
I've been looking at tunes, deleting, egr on tunes and so on and so on. I dont need super power or anything more then the truck should have stock. But I do want the truck to last a long time and from what I have read not deleting them limits the life to around 200k miles or so life expectancy. Is this true? Also does deleting extended the life and if so how much? Please keep in mind im not looking to build a hot rod toy but if it makes the truck last longer I would definitely consider this. Next question is this, I'll be buying the truck out of state so when I register this truck in my state (Nebraska) it will have to go through an inspection and the truck im buying is going to be used so do I need to stay away from any trucks that have already been deleted so it will pass inspection? Last question is if I do buy a deleted truck what should I stay away from as far warning signs that the truck wasn't done correctly? Thanks for any advice and information in advance.
My truck will not be towing all the time but I do have a camper that I'll be pulling and the occasional flatbed double axle car trailer. I do travel a lot. And I hunt a lot and I travel to other states to hunt often.
