I own an 06 F-250 XLT and recently started a pressure washing business. I have a large skid with all the equipment that barely fits in my 8 foot bed and must weigh about 1500 lbs with no water and much more with my tanks filled. My truck has always had a cali lean since I bought it and so with the skid in there it's really bad. The skid stays in my truck 9 months out of the year so I have a constant heavy load. I'm not sure which route to go with the suspension. F-550 springs were my first choice but people say it will ride like a scooter on a dirt road. Air bags are on the fence as well because I'm not sure how they will hold up under a constant load for 9 months at time. Possibly a helper spring and air bags? Or new f250 springs and air bags. There isn't much on this subject online so I'm hoping you all can help me out with this decision.

 

Suggest you consult with a spring shop. They would have the background and experience to better suggest what works best .
Plus usuially if they recommend it they will stand behind it.

 

May I offer a recommendation of using a trailer? Since it fits in the 4x8 bed you can likely find decent cheap used trailers that will easily work, granted it may be worth getting a tandem(2) axle trailer in case you want to drastically increase the weight later on.

 

Will be calling around suspension places and see what they say.

I ultimately decided against using a trailer because where I live there are way too many people driving to park on the road with a trailer or try to back into driveways with it. Too much BS.

 

As it was suggested, seek the opinion of a shop that specializes in springs.I feel to solve your problem, the ride will end up being stiffer if you are good with that.
