Default F250 7.3 cuts out then dies

We have an 01' F250 7.3. First diesel we have owned. It has started taking forever to warm up enough to drive, like 20 mins. If you take off from a cold start it will run about a mile and then start to cut out then die. We have to crank it for awhile, then when it starts just have to let it idle for atleast 20 mins. Then it will be able to go w/ out cutting out.
Kinda like plugs fouling on a gas engine. We plan on running some injector cleaner through it. No fileter lights on in the dash. Any suggestions??? Thanks

hi, did you replace the fuel filter and check the engine oil level?-also how cold is it outside when this is happening -the exhaust backpressure sensor could be malfuntioning or possible fuel gelling if in acold enough climate-also could be a malfuntioning oil temp switch (had one do this before with a bad oil temp switch ) it could beany number of problems causing your concern-low fuel pressure-malfunctioning EBP-IAT-EOT-low battery voltage you really cant diagnose these powerstrokes without a good scan tool like the hickock new generation star tester XL (which is what i use) it is a shot in the dark to tell you to replace anything-you can bring it to a ford dealership and have the camshaft sensor installed under the ford recall for free even if that is not the problem, but will eliminate one of the sensors that can cause your concern.
