Default F350 Computer code problem P0605 ??

Hi I have a 2010 F 350 V-10 Gas 4X4 with about 37000 miles. I'm having a problem with the trucks computer RAM code. The truck normally stays in storage with my Pick up camper in the bed of my truck. When in storage I keep the the positive post off the battery to keep the battery from discharging. Just recently restarted the truck to get new tires. When the engine started magically the check engine light came on. I took my truck to the mechanic to change the oil, coolant and address the check engine light issue. the check engine light code was Hard Fault P0605 PCM Internal Fail. In addition to the check engine light on I have no Air conditioning, and my CD player doesn't wok. I don't think they are related to the computer issue. The mechanic said that the problem was with the RAM in the main computer and that he was not able to clear the check engine light because the issue is with the computer itself. He said that I would need a new computer cost around $900 to 1000 part itself no including reloading the computer codes! OUCH !!! Has anyone had problems with the truck internal computer ?? I sure miss the good old days when I could fix my truck myself and not deal with this new fangled stuff!! I would appreciate anyones advice. Thank you
