F350 super duty
Has anyone ever had a problem with a big POUFF...coming from inside the motor while driving it and simultaneous appears the "reduce power engine", batterie sign lighted, lost of power and stop. Wait a few seconds, the truck restart as nothing happened, go to the garage = No codes, and nothing in the memory to confirm a diagnostic. It did this twice in 2 days, so keeping the truck in the parking lot until someone can look at it again tomorrow. Any suggestion would be welcome. What is particular is the fact that there is no check engine after you restart the truck and no code either. Puzzle.
thanks.

Just like the explanation of the problem,
It does sound like temporary loss of ignition power.
Fuel usually gives a little warning, then quits, but electrical gives no warning and just shuts off.
The problem will involve starting at where the signal is generated to where the spark to the plugs is instantly gone.
What we like to do in cases like this is connect a monitor to record all engine signals and watch for the problem to appear when it shuts down.
This will require something like an 8 channel scope to be able to examine the 8 inputs to see just which one began to fail.
With the right equipment it should be a little easier to locate the cause. Until then all one can do is to hope to hit the problem, like shooting in the dark.
The right person with the right equipment has the best chance of finding this cause,,,,,,,,,quickest.
