can anyone tell me if i can check the fuel injectors on my own or do i have to take it in to get a buzz test on them

 

Not sure what a buzz test is???
Haven't work on to many diesel, but the new I have, you need to remove the and bench test them. The one I tested brake open at like something on the order 18k psi or was it 1.8K psi. In either case my guess is you may not have the needed tools. sorry

 

All the testing of the injectors are done in the truck with the scan tool the buz test is just one of the tests that can be done. With the proper scan tool you can find out witch injector is weak or not working IN THE TRUCK. To take out the injectors to test them you might as well replace then when there out because it's 2/3 of the battle just to get then out. I have worked on to many 7.3L powerstrokes to be pulling injectors just to test them. When I pull them it's to reseal or replace them.
