headlight bulb replacement
i own a 2005 f 250 crew cab. i am attempting to replace the headlight bulb. unable to remove the old ones. dont know which was to turn the old one to remove. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
if it's like my 06, there's 4 screws on the front of the headlight assembly (one at each corner) you have to remove first (you might have to take off or loosen the grill to get to a couple). then the whole thing comes out. twist the bulb assemly that sticks out a little bit counter-clockwise. should pop right out. loosen clips on one side of that with a flathead screwdiver just a bit and the bulb will come loose from the wiring. put new bulb in wiring without touching the bulb with your fingers (oil from fingers will make it not work and burst). put bulb assy back in the way it came out and twist a little bit clockwise to tighten it in place. wiring assy should be facing down if doen right. slide entire thing back in and re-attach screws (and grill if needed). check that light comes on before you put it all back together.
Welcome to the site..
You'll need to remove the headlamp door/trim cover.. To do this, you need to first remove the turn lamp assembly to get to the lower H/L door screws.. Look below the amber turn assembly (between the lamp and bumper opening) and you'll see 2 screws.. Remove them both and the turn lamp assembly will come loose BUT it is held in place with a 'bullet' type snap connector on the upper most portion (ear) of the turn lamp assembly.. Once the screws are removed pull forward on the 'ear' of the lamp assembly.. With the turn lamp removed, open the hood and remove the 2 screws on top the headlamp door/trim..
