Default How Do You Drive This Thing?!

My last truck was a '68 F-150. It was manual shift with manual four wheel drive selector on the floor. Hence, operation was very simple. The 2015 F-350 XLT I just acquired is an automatic (first ever in 71 years!) and I do not understand how to operate the four wheel drive function. The vehicle has the 6.2 gas engine, 4.30 gearing, Electronic Shift On the Fly, and Electronic Locking Rear Axle. I read the manual and researched on the internet just how to drive in FWD low but am still not sure. The manual says to slow way down, or stop; then shift the transmission into neutral. Following all that, it says to select FWD low on dashboard mounted switch. Am I supposed to leave transmission in neutral?? To me, the truck would not move with the transmission in neutral. I did not try anything for fear of messing something up (I do know that I must not be on hard surfaces when in FWD, or with rear axle locked). Can someone please enlighten me?! Thank you much. BTW... does FWD function in reverse??
