RE: how hard to replace head gasket on 99 Ford F250
Probably depends on your level of ability, andthe'fill' of your tool box Front engine cover/timing chains are about the worst part of the job..There are cam and crank holding tools, but you can improvise the holding pieces and set the cam timing.. And you'd need the fan clutch nut wrenches ect.. A sizeable job for sure, but if you have a good mechanical background, needed time, shop/garage space, a good outfitted tool box, and a few needed tools it can be done.. If you'd like to see somespecific info. on the job, email me and I'll send you the info for pulling the engine cover, chains ect. to see if your comfortable taking on the job..

I am about to pull the heads off of my sons 2000 f250 v10. If the heads are going to be rebuilt do I still need to get the special tools for this job? I have pulled a few motors before but this will be the first time I have pulled, had professional rebuilt and replaced the heads. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.
