Low RPMs, no power 7.3L
We just did an engine swap in a 2001 f350. Everything went well on start up. Idles good, sounds great, and so on.
Took it on a test drive and it has no power. It feels like it's trying to pull a dead elephant up a steep hill, even at full throttle.
During the swap we had to take to turbo off. We realized the 'y' pipe was cracked so we replaced it. Other than that, everything else was good on the new engine.
This is our first diesel project. Anything we may have overlooked, or need to know to fix this?

What RPM range, and how does the performance fall off?
Smooth running to a more mid throttle/RPM or ? range. Just smooth idle and anything off idle the performance falls off?
Misfire/s, rattle/cackle, or any 'hiss' trying to get beyond the flat throttle?

Got it fixed. We dove back in there and realized the y pipe on the back of the turbo wasn't seated correctly. Also overlooked connecting the exhaust break. That's what happens when your help is coming down with strep throat during an engine install. Hence the delay in reply. Got'er running and tagged today, though!
Thanks for the info.
