Default manual glow plugs or not???

Hello to all,
The cold has been tough on my rig this year. She left me stranded on the jobsite after sitting for 10 hours in 5* weather.(no electricity on site to plug in).So now I am looking at glow plugs and re-lays or soelenoid? I was told that wellman were the way to go(anyone know of better please do tell). My real quandry is, should I go with a manual system or stay with the factory one. I heard you can hold the button down for a longer time to get the plugs hotter witch helps alot with cold starts. I've been battling this issue for a long time now, it's time to nip it. Also my valve cover gaskets do not leak now, They say they are re-usable and newbies are pricy so replace or reuse??I am the only driver and do not plan on selling and dont mind holdind a button or switch as long as she starts. Now I have to start it at lunch and let it run for 30 min just so it will re-start when I get off. Even then I have to wait 20 to 30 minutes before it will move. Hopefully glow plugs will help with the long wait for warm up. I appreciate all responces and suggestions and thank everyone for thier time and knowledge. Jim the concrete guy
