A little FYI, construction machinery utilize steel reinforced hydraulic hose that can sustain some very high hydraulic pressure and that particular hose is fine for trans lines. But,,,,,,,,,,most folks are not aware of the line pressure from a trans pump assy , so they could install the wrong material and wind up with a bigger problem.
If the manufacturer could get away with compression fittings , they certainly would have. A flared fitting is much more durable as compared to compression fittings.

I , also have seen some regular hose used on trans lines and they had no problem. Sometimes we just get lucky.
