Question Performance Modules

Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with Performance Modules? I have a 2021 F-250 with a 6.2L gas engine. I tow a 30' camper, and have no problems on most roads and highways. Up in the mountains of North Carolina, I would love to have more HP, torque, and pulling power. I don't want to permanently chip the truck. I have seen plug in Power Modules that plug into the ECU, and do not leave any footprint. Some of the claims are 60 more HP and 5 more MPG. That seems a bit unrealistic. I just do not know if this is a wise choice, or if I should do a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and dual exhaust instead. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
