hey guys, as you know I own a 88 F250 with a 460 in it and 3speed auto trans.
I have a noise that sounds like it's coming from the lower end but when I put it in gear any gear other than neutral it gets really quiet and doesn't make any noise other than what is coming from the tail pipes. My question is this if the torque converter was lined up with the studs in the wrong holes would that cause the sound that I hear. thanks a bunch. Floyd

I don't know the answer for that, but if the TC mounting bolts are loose , it can sound like a connecting rod.

thank you for your honesty Hanky. I wonder if any one else has had any problems like this before or could shed some light on this
