Default Radio module need programming for 2020 Transit F35?

I have a intermittent problem with the radio and the door opening sounds in my van. Sometimes they just cut out or get distorted. I pulled out the radio module, model LK4T-18K810-BL. I checked all connections and even pulled the PC board and looked for cold solder joints. All looks OK so I put it back together and now it works OK but not sure for how long. I've found used radio modules on eBay but they say they may need programming by the dealer. Is this true? I suspect it would be expensive. Any other ideas about what may be causing the intermittent failure?

Do you know if it is power failure to the radio, or internal ?

We try to narrow down the causes to those we cannot correct , then have those done. What do you think ?

Default RCM radio intermittent

I've inspected the connections to the RCM and they look fine, but did not see if the power was intermittent since I don't have a wiring diagram and it would be hard to measure anyway. Sometimes the radio works fine, other times it's either cracking or failed all together. I see there are companies who will fix the module.

It would be better to get it repaired because it's only 6 years old and the van has 50K miles on it. I've learned that if I bought a used one it would need programming.
