Im looking for a part number for a rear wheel seal on the hub. I have went to auto stores every time i get in it doesnt fit. It fits in the hub but not around the drive shaft so i cant put the hub back on with that seal. I have a 97 f350 7.3 dually. Called ford wrong seal keep in mind the lady didnt seem to know what i was talking about.

I gotta admit I'm a little puzzled too, but that is only because you are talking about two different things. Maybe I might be able to shed some lite on the situation.
Rear wheel seal is in the hub as you describe The axle needs to be removed, the nuts and/or lock and outer brg. The inner seal that rides on the axle tube is pressed into the hub ,correct? That seal should have a # on it, if it doesn't this is what you should do.
Take the VIN and the date of manuf from the sticker on the driver's door or door pillar along with the axle code on that sticker and go to a Ford dealer with that info and you should get the correct seal, parts etc.
To help clear up some possible confusion, the "Driveshaft" is the part under the truck that connects the trans/transfer case to the differential(Rear end). They are two separate parts. That might be why the poor lady was confused too. Happens a lot !
If you take the old correct seal to your normal supplier they may find a # to cross over or at least match what they have to the old correct seal.
Just a reminder, that seal is lubricated by the differential lube. Lube the seal before installing the hub on the axle housing, and after you have assembled everything ,you MUST tip the other end of the axle to allow the differential lube to fill the hub bearing cavity with the gear lube , BEFORE driving it !! Then remove the fill plug on the passenger side of the differential and add gear lube to the level with the bottom of the plug. You may already know this, but we try to touch all the bases.
