Default Remote Keyless Entry

I just bought a 2005 F250 Crew Cab 4WD last week. I has electric windows and door locks, but according to the dealership I bought it from, it never had a remote keyless system installed. I tried the "program the remote" steps in the manual, which I was told would tell me if one was installed and no luck.
Any suggestions on the most cost effective way to add one?

There's more than few aftermarket RKE and/or RKE alarm kits available.. I've installed some of the A-1 Electronics hardware for power windows/locks installs and the quality was very good.. They offer a RKE ad on kit..

I have (finally) purchased to Valet 712t RKE system to install on my '05 F250 FX4.

At first I figured I would just install it myself, looked simple enough. The instructions that come with it are only for the device, not the vehicle. I am an electrican but I do not know enough about automotive wiring to just jump off into it without a diagram of the vehicle wiring.

So I deciced it may be easier to have a shop install it for me.I have talked to a couple of different shops now and received conflicting information. One says I do need a "bypass module", one says I don't. I have seached the internet to see if I can find something that shows me how to wire this thing to my truck, to no avail.

If I do have a shop do it, I don't want to pay for something I don't need, but if I don't need the module and can do it myself, I will.

Can you help me with some info?

hi, i know the RKE systems are pretty easy to install -it seems to me that if the system you purchased needed a bypass module it should have came with it-on the other hand the newer (2003 and up fords) come with a whole new plane of muliplexing and a smart module built onboard (fords CAN system) may not allow you to hook up the RKE without a bypass module-personally i have not had to install any RKE systems on any ford vehcle newer than a 200o model-maybe call a ford dealership to verify if you need the bypass module or not.
