Shift solenoids
Hello,
New to the forum here,
I have a 2008 ford f250 5.4L with the 5R110W transmission. I've gotten code p0755, "shift solenoid b". Changed the fluid, filter and found the solenoid to be at fault. Not a big deal to replace it, but there's a huge price difference between aftermarket and oem.
Ford is $335 at the dealer, $225 on Amazon, ATP is $50 on rock auto. Pioneer is $80 at oreillys.
Question i have, is the ford oem solenoid really $200 worth better? Would like to save some money but also don't want to be tearing it out 6 months later.
Thanks in advance,
Billy

1) aftermarket ABCDE
2) OEM B only
3) OEM A and B
Aftermarket you still get 12 months warranty. Of course OEM must be better but you get next to no warranty when you DIY it without ford dealership or a shop with certified technicians and all the paper works, you are gonna have a hard time to claim on warranty as if there was no warranty at all.
If I were to go for OEM I would at a minimum change A and B.
Not sure how he determined B must be at fault, sometime it can be a wiring issue.
