Default strange noise

my 2006 makes a grinding noise when i let off the fuel, and goes away when i get back into it. ive stopped put in park no noise when i give it fuel but if i put foot on brake put in drive the noise is their again, i have driven this on the highway and as long as im giving it fuel everything is fine its just when i slow down or lift off the fuel a little does the sound return. has anyone else had this happen and can tell me what it is?

thx in advance

How does the engine idle, is it smooth or somewhat unsteady? There is a good possibility of a vacuum leak.

UPDATE: come to find out the bolts on the torque converter and the flexplate loosened up and waddled out. which it explains the noise when i lifted off the fuel.
