Default trouble cold starting

I have 2004 f-350 6.0 diesel. I have an extremley hard time starting the engine when its cold. I almost kill the battery trying to start it. it cranks cranks when i pump the pedal it will grab then stall numerous times then eventually starts. once the engine is warm it runs great and starts immediatly with no problems at all until it cools down again. i noticed a little oil coming from the glow plug is this coincidence or possible cause.

thanks any help would be great

Don't know what part of the country you're in , but if you don't get it straightened out come cold winter you are gonna go thru some more batteries and maybe another starter.
It does sound like the glow plug system is not working. Most of the time the glow plug relay isn't working.
