I have a 95 F250 xtra cab HD 4x4 that looks like new, was rear ended and some damage was done. Insuranec company wanted to total and I said no way. Baught it back and want to get a restored title but motor vehicles wont sign off on it because they cant find the VIN number on the frame that matches the one on the dash. Truck had been under coated at one timeI think and number may be covered. If some one could tell me where to look for this number I would gretly appreciate it. I have been under there 3 or 4 times already with no luck.

The VIN number isn't stamped on the frame.. VIN locations are on the Data Certification Label, and VIN tagged to the instrument panel top/windshield area only..

 

I was told by a couple of ford mechanics and the motor vehicle department here that it is on the frame somewhere it just a matter of finding out its location.

 

check the inside of the drivers front door frame that's where mine is at on my 1999 f250 i hope yours is too you sound like me you hate to let s good truck go.let me know if that helps

 

On larger trucks the vin was stamped on the top of the driver's side frame rail little behind the left front tire..
