Default wheel hub removal

i have the 4 nuts off of the back of the steering knuckle and the hub lock off and i read on another web site that it should now come off that it is a slip fit but both sides of thewhat the nutwas attached to are threaded which means that the steering knuckle cannot be threaded and it is just rusty i have been hitting the hub with a hammer and spraying it with various solevents should i just keep hitting it or do i have to get those studs out sorry by the way it is an 01 f250 4x4

Default RE: wheel hub removal

No,, the studs don't need to be removed, and once the nuts are removed it usually isn't a tough job to get the hub/bearing assembly off.. You did remove the snap ring around the axle stub in the spindle bore? I've done quite a few, and most times it just takes a moderate bump from both sides to get it loose and move.. Do you see 'any' seperationor movement between the flange and spindle that looks like it may have cracked loose? The hub portion that sets into the spindle bore isn't a large amount and iso-ringed so the amount of rust should be minimal other than what may be in the stud bores.. But their closed at each end, andif rusted may give you a little fight.. You don't want to hammer on the wheel flange..
