Thoughts, but not sure how useful they might be.
There are at least 2 modules that may be involved here. One would be the body control module and the other would be the driver's door module. One of them may be sending incorrect signals resulting in the problem. The best way to confirm which one would involve use of a capable scan tool to scan the modules for possible problems and sometimes reprogramming will correct , if not, replacement may be required.
