Default A/C Recharging problem?

Hi, I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred, Limited Edition.
Most a/c low ports on cars are usually in the front of the engine in clear view. I think that on this car it is located on the passenger side, near the fire wall? If I'm wrong please let me know. If yes....
*What is the difficulty level in accessing and recharging this a/c low port?
*There is a unknown small black box with a cap of sorts blocking access to this a/c port. I can't get my hand behind this box type thing to get to the a/c port!
*What is this small black box type thing and can it be removed, etc to give me a clear access to the a/c port?
*If so, can you please provide to me steps in doing this?
*Any online videos for this dealing with this particular Make and Model and Year?

Thank You so much for taking the time to address this for me!

Low pressure service port is located on the evaporator-to suction accumulator line near the evaporator fitting..

Default Ac

i just did mine. Low pressure port is on the passenger far side tucked in under the firewall. Look there and you’ll see it. Best way to access it with gauge fitting is to remove the large black cross brace. Doing so makes the job much easier. Not doing so gives gouged skin, swearing, and much added time. Spend the 5 minutes!!. Trust me.
