Default Driving problem

2006 Five Hundred SE. Car was hard to shift, no matter in reverse or drive car wouldn't move when releasing the brake pedal or while pressing the accelerator pedal. Car then wouldn't crank/start. Replaced a relay and the car cranked and started fine. Randomly when driving the car will have issues accelerating and not want to move. It will also blow white smoke when pressing the accelerator pedal..

Please help. I have no idea what's causing this as its random and will drive fine then have this issue. Other then this its been a fantastic car and id hate to have to get rid of it. All fluids are fine, no check engine lights and no codes pop up on the OBD scanner.

I found that you own this car since 2022 and you have already spent more than $15k on repairs alone. Have you checked the bluebook value or perhaps you didn't want to face it, can you tell us the current mileage? I'd take a guess that your car, if running fine, worth around $3000. And based on all current the issues yours worth under $800-$1000.
When is your upcoming smog check? If you fail it then you are qualified for the CAP program in California to retire your car and get at least $1350 and up to $2000, that's California taxpayers loss your gain, consider how much your car's worth.

What you might consider,

It might cost some, but you will be able to decide more accurately if you want to invest any more $$$ or trade it or just sell it outright./
Right now you know what you have. If you purchase a used vehicle, you don't know what you will get. If you purchase new, you know what you will get ,,,,,,,,,,,,,months of payments plus some warranty, maybe !
You might have your vehicle checked out ,by a reputable shop and you just might get away with the lesser amount.
What do you think ?

I've had it since 2021 and have put more then $5k into it. i have taken it to a shop but it was driving fine when i had it towed there, so there were unable to do anything. I need to know what's causing the not driving issue.

What this sometimes requires,
If you can get the vehicle to misbehave, take the tech for a ride with you. Sometimes that helps a lot.
