I bought my 06 Ford Five Hundred used last year and it only included a normal key that's used for entry and ignition. I'm wondering how to obtain a wireless entry fob to unlock the doors and trunk.

Can I go to any key making place for this or do I need to go to a dealer? I bought a fob from autozone but it has no interior or battery.

 

This is what I would do.

I know I may have to pay a little more,,,,,,,,,,,but ,,,, I would need to go through this only ONCE.

Get the FOB from FORD, have the dealership program it while there, AND make sure everything is good and enjoy the ride home.
There are other places like certified locksmiths that probably could do the programming for a little less, but look at the extra time and trouble to get this done.

You have now joined a select group that has learned where you purchase things matters.

 

See I asked the guy at the dealership and he said no, they can't do it. Marina Airport Ford is GARBAGE!
