Default ford 500 cvt question

I just purchased a 2007 ford 500.with 120,000 miles on it. The car runs great in drive, but here's the problem. There isn't any reverse! I changed the fluid and that didn't help. Did anyone else have that problem? And what did you do to fix it? Was the solenoids in the valve body of the tranny bad??

Can't help other than to observe my 2006 has 250,000 on it and tranny works. I've been religious obsessive about the fluid, have to admit. Changing the fluid would also be my first step to the CVT problem. Each tranny drain and fill replaces 50% of fluid. So 3 consecutive drain and fills, separated by normal 20 mile intervals, would result in 87% new fluid.

So on your fluid change, did you, or prior owner, use a non-Ford fluid? This CVT takes a special fluid (which says is incompatible with every other tranny fluid). is only available at Ford dealers, It's light blue-green in color and a Volvo product because the tranny is a Volvo unit. Luck.
