Fuel pressure
#2
Should be on rear of fuel rail , passenger side of vehicle. There is a fuel rail pressure sensor that controls fuel pump operation depending on fuel demand so if the engine is idling it may not need as much fuel as if taking off or pulling a hill. Be careful before condemning fuel pump just because pressure appears low.

Hanky Thanks for the info on this part. Wonder why there is a schrader valve under the green cap?

Chilton book says that some models are equipped with fuel pressure test port. It just says locate it on the fuel rail.
Models without a test port: Relieve fuel pressure . Disconnect fuel supply line at the fuel rail , then use adapter to connect the fuel pressure gauge between the fuel line and the fuel rail. After checking pressure , relieve fuel pressure and reconnect the line.
Why didn't ford put the test port on all models!?
