Default spark plug

Hi all,
I have a 2005 500se with 80,000 miles and figure it's time to change plugs.
I pulled one plug out and it is a agsf32wm platinum plug (Does not look bad for 80,000 miles) , but the gap is .060 instead of .052-.056
I was going to stay with the same plugs, but they are no longer available and ford changed it to the sp-413 plug which is not platinum but nickel.
The plugs are 4.99 a piece.
I can get other brands of spark plugs like ngk and others that are platinum and cost less.
My question is: Do you think going with the nickel spark plug would be the way to go , or should I go to the other brands platinum? Which are a little cheaper.
I don't want to cheap out on the tune-up, it's just that the original plugs lasted a long time and are platinum and I would like the same longevity out of a plug.
I appreciate any thoughts, especially from any mechanics. Thanks

The part about -Up Grading Spark Plugs- is the reason I was wondering about this ford change.

Ok. sorry, The part number for the platinum is sp-433. Advance auto web site said the plug would not fit my car. Called dealer again and asked to double check on the sp=413 and was told that the sp-433 will work on my car and is platinum.
So I guess it's best to double check on things.
And I guess I should have done a little more research before I posted.
Sometimes it is easier to ask a question and get the answer .

Default My original were nickel

I just changed my plugs on a 2007 500 SEL at 99,000 and the plugs I took out were the Nickel. The replacements I bought from Advance Auto Parts are Motorcraft Platinum. I believe the 433's.

While your in there you should think about changing the PCV valve.(it is either heated or non. If it has a wire attached to it then it is heated.

The EGR has a small o-ring rubber gasket that tends to flatted out. You should replace that. Got mine from Ford $10.

Replace the upper and lower intake gaskets because you have to take off the intake manifold to get to the back plugs. RockAuto has a great price for both sets. 6 per set total of 12.

Buy a can of throttle body cleaner to clean the throttle body because you have to take that off as well. Remember to reprogram the PCM after your done. There is a video online that shows that.

Go with the platinum they last longer in my opinion and the research I did.
