my wife has a 2018 Flex and it's driving her nuts. lightning, the wind, almost anything will set off the alarm. the lighting issue for camping was solved by taking out the bulbs (factory trained ford mechanic suggested that). is there any way to dumb down or turn off the alarm?

First, was the alarm system installed at the factory ?
Various switches and sensors might need to be adjusted where sensitivity can be reduced.
A capable tech with a capable scan tool should be able to get into this system and check it out.

If ,however it is an add on system, the installing agency would have to be consulted. Fords have strange ways in how they respond to add on features.
