2000 Focus Wagon
Hey There guys... New here, thought I'd get started early. I just bought a used 2000 Focus Wagon today, and should be bringing it home tomorrow. It seems to be in amazing condition, and I'm quite happy with my purchase. My boyfriend and I are excited to get it home and really get a good look at it. In the meantime, I was wondering if there was any suggestions you guys had for things to check or be on the lookout for. Things you have seen that fail often, break or otherwise need attention.
This is my second car, first was a 1995 Saturn SL1 that seemed great for the first month and then went downhill. Had huggggee oil consumption problems, EGR, cylinder head etc etc etc. So basically, I'm hoping to be able to get on top of those type of things with the Focus before they kill me. I'm almost thankful my poor little car got totalled- the chance to start fresh is much appreciated.
So yeah... tell me what your experiences have been with these cars. I already know that tomorrow I need to call my local dealership to ask about the recall on the back hatch/door. Other than that- we know that the back brakes were just done, along with all the basic oil, transmission fluid and filter changes, and it has new front tires and headlights. Aside from these things- it seems to be running great- we just want to know what we should watch for or check out right off the bat. I'm looking forward to enjoying my new Focus- or 'mamawagon' as I think I've nicknamed it.
