hi im new to the forums... hi everyone!!!.. ok well here is my problem. I got a 2004 ford focus 2.0 with a auto tranny... the car shifts into drive perfectly but when I go to drive I give it gas and it acts as if its in nertraul so therefore the car wont move at all ? anyone know what the problem is?? car only has 75k miles on it thanks!!!!

 

Something you should check.
The fluid level in the trans and have someone move the shift lever while you look under the hood to make sure the shift cable has not broken or become disconnected. Look on top of the trans for the cable or just observe what is moving and that nothing has become disconnected.

 

Ok I will check when I get home thank you!! The cable is black? And has like a circle hook on it?

 

Sounds like you found it, but you didn't say if it was connected to anything or was it just moving around?
